아주 오랜만에 글을 쓰는것 같습니다. 잘들 계셨죠?


어제 Linus Torvalds님께서 Kernel 4.14 RC1을 릴리즈 하셨습니다. 업데이트가 빨라 정신이 없네요. ㅎㅎㅎ

Greg Kroah님께서는 4.14를 LTS로 지원한다네요. 2019년 말까지는 유지보수가 잘 되겠죠.


ODROID-XU4에 간단히 올려봤는데, 다행히 부팅은 잘 되네요. 8개 CPU코어가 HMP로 동시에 잘 돌아갑니다.

4.9 커널 나왔을때에도  3~4개월 정도 열심히 포팅해야 3D/2D 가속기들이 우분투에서 쓸만하게 돌았었습니다.

이번에도 100일 작전에 들어가야 할것 같습니다. 메인라이닝/업스트리밍을 못하니 또 포팅 노가다를 해야겠죠. ㅠㅠ


u-boot도 비교적 최신으로 업데이트 하였더니, eMMC칩 호환성도 좋아졌고, PXE 부팅과 KVM 가상화도 잘 되네요.

Exynos-5422을 3년 넘게 우려먹고 있지만, 아직도 재미있는 것들이 많이 있네요. Vulkan과 Wayland도 흥미롭습니다.

질문이 있는데요. RootFS 만 올라간, (커널 3.14) 을 사용하고 있는데요.

AVS(Alexa Voice Service)를 설치하려고 하니, Debian 계열만 쉽게 설치가 되는것 같아요.

저 같은 경우에 어떻게 해야 하나요?

의존성때문에 설치하는데 고생하는 경우가 많죠.

관련 패키지를 하나하나 찾아서 빌드하여 rootfs에 넣는 수 말고는 생각이 안나네요.


아니면 우분투나 데비안 minimal image를 만들어서 부팅시키는 것이 속편할 수도 있습니다.

minimal의 경우 300MB이하로도 만들수 있고, apt 명령도 잘 먹으니 개발 및 관리가 편리할 겁니다.

나중에 squash-fs를 적용하면 전원을 갑자기 꺼도 파일시스템이 깨지지 않게 만들수 있어,

상업용으로 큰 문제는 없을겁니다.


그나저나 어떤 보드를 사용하시나요?

Rootfs을 직접 만드신 것인가요 아니면 업체에서 제공해 준 것인가요?

업체에서 제공해 준 것이라면 직접 만들어 사용하면 필요한  package만 컴파일하여 만들 수 있습니다.

linuxfromscrach 참조하시면 MIPS용 rootfs을 만들실 수 있습니다.
