커널 부트 로그 중 SATA interface 관련 문의를 드립니다.

 

현재 저는 JMicron의 SATA to Nand controller를 사용하고 있습니다.

 

커널 부팅 중 SCSI disk를 등록하면서 다음과 같은 message가 출력됩니다.

보시는 바와 같이 SCSI disk는 정상적으로 attach 됩니다.

 

문의를 드리는 것은 로그 중간 부분에 있는 빨간색으로 나타낸 부분입니다.

 

doesn't support DPO or FUA

 

-> DPO or FUA를 지원하지 않음으로써 SATA의 performance에 어떤 영향을 주는지요??

-> DPO or FUA의 역할은 무엇인지요??

-> DPO or FUA를 지원하도록 하려면 어떤 설정을 해주어야 하는지요??

wikipedia에는 DPO or FUA에 대하여 다음과 같이 기술되어 있습니다.

 Disable Page Out (DPO) allows the initiator to warn the target that the data being read is unlikely to be requested again soon and so is not worth keeping in the target's data cache. Force Unit Access (FUA) tells the target to fetch the data from the media surface and to not use a cached copy.
